The Soul of the General: A Millennium of Non-Material Heritage
Born from the legendary kilns of Jianyang, the General Cup represents the pinnacle of Chinese black porcelain art. Known as a ‘National Gift,’ the Jian-Zhan is celebrated for its unique ability to transform simple tea into a silky, mellow experience. The Imperial Emerald glaze is not merely a color; it is a result of iron minerals crystallizing in the extreme heat—a spontaneous gift of the kiln that brings a regal, calming energy to your tea ceremony.

01 / High-Iron Clay & Water Softening
True to the Jian-Zhan heritage, this cup is crafted from local Jianyang clay with high iron content. This unique mineral composition helps to soften water, making every sip of tea smoother and more refined.
02 / The Imperial Cracked Ice
The emerald glaze features a distinct, multi-layered ice-crack pattern. This texture is a natural result of the cooling process after 1300°C firing, creating a visual depth that seems to capture a frozen forest within the porcelain.
03 / Hand-Thrown Authenticity
Unlike mass-produced molds, the General Cup is hand-thrown, resulting in a subtle weight and organic variation in rim diameter. This ‘imperfection’ is the mark of a true artisanal piece, offering a substantial and balanced feel in the hand.
